Sanibel Island
Sanibel Island, known for its shell beaches and wildlife refuges, is located just south of its sister island, Captiva. Its lighthouse is a landmark for folks cruising near the Gulf of Mexico in the southwest Florida area. We've anchored near the island a few times either near the lighthouse or near Ding Darling National Wildlife Refuge where there's excellent kayaking in the area.
